Nissan March

Micra is one of the best car model from Nissan, also known as Nissan March or Nissan Verita in other countries. Nissan was little known auto company in India but post the launch of Nissan Micra the company gained in popularity. Nissan Micra is the powerful compact hatchback that comes with both petrol and diesel variants. Micra was launched in 1982, named Nissan March and in India it was launched in the middle of 2010, built at its Chennai plant, also exported to various countries.

Nissan Micra has a kind of round shaped exterior, which is pretty different from its counterparts. It has a chrome plated radiator grille in which the headlamps are mounted, which compliments the exteriors. Apart from that the hatchback is equipped with washer and rear wiper (only in mid and top variant), full wheel covers and body colored bumper in the high-end variant. On the whole it has unique and attractive exterior.

The interior is comparable to the modern European hatchbacks. It provides spacious interior, with ample space in rear legroom, there are two bottle holders and three cup-holders. Nissan Micra variants are six in number, out of which four are petrol versions and other two are diesel versions. XE and XE Plus, which are the base variants that comes with standard basic features manual AC, roof antenna, engine immobilizer, power steering and XE Plus comes with the optional pack of seat covers, wheel cover and so on. The XL is the mid-variant that has all the features of XE and additionally it has headrests in rear, rear washer and wiper, wheel cover, driver airbag and so on. The XV is the top variant that has all the features of XL and additionally it has dual airbag, anti-breaking system, EBD+BA, alloy wheels, beige interior, push button start, body color bumper, door handles and side mirrors and so on. XV diesel variant has similar features to that of XV petrol variant but it comes with 1461 cc diesel engine and is the top most model in diesel, a fully packed version. Nissan Micra prices range between 4.00 lacs and 6.50 lacs.

The petrol engine comes with 1198 cc 1.2L, DOHC, 3-cylinder, 12 valve engine that has the capacity to produce 76PS maximum power at 6000rpm and maximum torque of 104 at 4000 rpm. Nissan Micra diesel engine comes with 1.5L 1461, 4 cylinder, SOHC, 8 valve diesel engine that can deliver 64 PS maximum power at 4000 rpm and 160 Nm maximum torque at 2000 rpm. With ample of safety features that includes EBD+BA, airbags, ABS, security alarm, engine immobilizer, front seat belt, driver seat belt remainder, halogen headlamps, front fog lamps, central locking and so on. The available colors of are - Brick Red, Blade Silver, Onyx Black, Storm White, Sunlight Orange and Pacific Blue.

Nissan Micra petrol variant comes measures of 3780mm in length, 1665mm in width and 1530mm in height with the wheelbase 2450mm and the diesel variant also has same dimensions but the height alone is 5mm less compared petrol variant. Maruti Swift, Hyundai i20, Volkswagen Polo, Ford Figo, Fiat Punto are some of the competitors in India. The Nissan Micra variants have a mileage of 15 kmpl in city and 17 kmpl in highways.
